We are SO EXCITED for the launch of The Craftsy Block of the Month that we just couldn’t wait to share a bit of our quilt-y creative work with you!
Here’s a gorgeous, self-updating badge that you can paste in your own blog’s sidebar, on your website, or on your Facebook page.
Each month, a new quilt block will appear, until eventually the whole quilt will be completed.
To get the badge, just copy and paste this code right into your own site:
<a target="_blank" href="http://www.craftsy.com/ext/blogblockbadge"><img src="http://static-sympoz.s3.amazonaws.com/course/50/BOTMbadge.gif" height="200" width="160" alt="Craftsy Block of the Month"></a>

We are dedicated to providing the best education and resources for crafters. Check out our courses in quilting, knitting and more!

You should do one of these for crocheted or knitted blocks, too!
Agreed! Crochet preferably.
I’m glad to here about the “Block of the Month” badges for quilters, but what about knitter’s and crocheters?
I love to quilt and crochet. I have so enjoyed looking at your website.
please include me in your family of admirors.
I love to crochet and quilt.
The reason they have not done one for the other crafts are that quilters are the best!
Just Kidding! Now that you have mentioned it, I am sure they will.
Interested in Quilting.
I’m not a very good quilter, but I’m learning. I need right now is an easy quilt that I can do, any suggestions.
Try the block of the month. I haven’t seen all of the blocks, but the first two are pretty easy and she’s a great teacher. At the end she’s covering binding and quilting, so you get a chance to do it all. Give it a try.
The rail fence is a great beginner quilt and you can make it more challenging as your skills improve. You will learn all of the basic skills with this quilt.
@ Rose: All of us were “not so good” quilters at one time or another. And, after twenty years of quilting, I’m not nearly as good as most. However, I’m sure you are going to be great. The most important thing in learning a new craft is the desire to learn. I think a four-patch, or a nine-patch pattern would be a nice beginning point for you. You’ll get the 1/4″ seams down, as well as meeting your seams down. Good luck, and God bless you in your endeavors!
My all time favorite is a log cabin quilt. Eleanor Burns has a great Quilt in a Day Log Cabin. It’s all done with strips and chain stitching. It goes really fast and is a pretty forgiving pattern. The two most used words in my sewing room are; pin & press. It takes alittle longer, but the results speak for themselves. Besides, this isn’t a race, it’s the best “ME” time there is. We all started with one little stitch. ENJOY!
I added this to my FB page, but it shows up on a separate page. How do I fix this?
I don’t have a blog, only Facebook and I can’t imagine where to put this link. If I post to the wall, it doesn’t show the badge. I don’t see how I can post it to the profile picture. I need help also.
I think you can get me on verizon, but I never did this before so I don’t really know what to do
All you do is paste the code into your blog / facebook page and it will show up like magic. If you’re talking about how to join the block of the month, all you need to do is go to the Block of the Month signup page and register. You can start right away. http://www.craftsy.com/class/The-Craftsy-Block-of-the-Month/50
I thought it would be fun to add the BOM badge to my FaceBook page sidebar too, but I can’t find where to do it. I’ve tried Edit Profile, etc, and the URL for the Craftsy badge doesn’t seem to recognize. *sigh* dangit… Suggestions – ?
The badge can be added to Facebook as a photo in an album. Right-click on the image, save to your computer, then upload to an album.
I tried it but all I got was the code – no badge. Do you know exactly where I should post it on Facebook?
You need to right-click on the iamge, save it to your computer, and then upload the image itself to the facebook album. It won’t self-update in this way, but at least you’ll be able to share it with your friends.
I’m linked up!
Woo-hoo! Thanks for posting the badge!
I am new at going to web sites, so I’m not sure I’m doing this right. I love to quilt and would like to be part of the block of the month.
|Want to join do not know what to do please tell me how to do Thank you
All you need to do is go to the class registration page, sign up, and you can get started right away: http://www.craftsy.com/class/The-Craftsy-Block-of-the-Month/50 All of the instructions for January are there, and instrux for future months are still to come.
I would like to put the new badge on my Facebook but I don’t have any idea how to do that. Do you have any instructions on how to do that?
Same here. FB instructions are as clear as mud. I found the place on the lefthand side at the bottom, but it is for a FB badge and not adding on.
All you need to do is right click on the image, save to your computer, and then upload to a Facebook album.
I don’t know how to do it either. I am much better with crafting than computers. Hope someone lets us know how to sign up for the BOM.
After some investigation, it looks like the badge won’t self-update on Facebook. You can, however ,right-click on the image, save it to your computer, and upload as an image to an album.
Such a novel item to have–Thanks
I’m so thrilled. I have medical issues and am homebound but I can still sew. I am a beginner at quilting but love what I’m doing. So excited to do a square a month with you! Don’t let the ohers who want something else get you down…. their are still those of us who are grateful to be taught what you have to teach. Thank you!
I am making a “Free” Craftsy Quilt of the Month block, if you would like to join in on the fun, just go to craftsy.com and sign up. This is a really great website, if you like to do crafts they cover so many, and while not all are free there worth the small charge.
Looks great, looking forward to seeing it all.
Nice! I have proudly displayed my badge.
Awesome! It looks great on your site!
ready to try quilt
I would also like to know how to get the “Block of the Month” badge on my Facebook page. I know how to copy and paste the code…..but, where do I paste it on my Facebook page???? Help!!!
I’m now retired and having lots of time to re-establish my quilting hobby. Can’t wait to get started. Bring it on! Craftsy Rocks! I especially like Jenny Doan.
I’ve posted mine on Facebook. Can’t wait to get started.
added to my blog – love the self updating – thanks
Woo-hoo! It looks awesome!
I am new to this site and it looks wonderful. Very cheery!
I don’t have a web site but was wondering if the HTML code could somehow be used on my facebook page. Thanks
I have been watching for this, so excited!
Add the button to my blog.
GREAT! It looks fabulous, good work.
I too have signed up to do the block of the month. I think it is a great way to learn to do a different way to use up material and have a nice quilt when finished. Thank you for sharing your ideas and techniques.
I am totally new to this but I do have Facebook. How do I paste this into my site?
After some investigation, it looks like it won’t self-update on Facebook, but you CAN right-click on the image, save it to your computer, and then upload the image itself to an album.
Like two others who commented here, I don’t see instructions on posting this to Facebook.
good morning fellow quilters! i would love to put the badge on my facebook page..but i’m at a loss as to how to do this!! any facebook techies out there?
I’m on board with the other knitters/crocheters… a block of the month for us too??? That would be a great way to get all the blocks done for an afghan. Thanks!!
I consider myself somewhat computer literate but this badge confused me. I copied the above link into my facebook status which became a link to your Block of the Month. I’m curious as to how this badge is going to update itself. I don’t have a website. I think I am missing something…..
After some investigation, it looks like it won’t self-update on facebook. You can, however, save the image to your computer and upload it to a Facebook album.
I want to put the badge on my fb page and no idea how to accomplish this. And I’ve already completed my January blocks!!
Just right click on the image, save to your computer and then upload the image on Facebook.
Love this! Want t crochet one too. I volunteer to help if needed. ~Kelly

we still need to know how to put on our Facebook page!! Please?!?
Right click on the image and save it to your computer. Then, go to Facebook and upload the image.
I just found out today and have signed up. I can’t wait. What an interesting concept and class.
I love to do quilt, and love to be part of the block of the month i am from Costa Rica.
I too (like shelly) would like to display the badge on my fb page, but I do not know how. Is it possible?
I did it! This will be fun!
I miss-spelled my name, duh
I signed up for your free block of the month but don’t know how to get to it. I do not blog and am not on facebook for several reasons. Could you please let me know what to do to get to the block of the month. Thank you
Love these first two blocks. can’t wait more the next month.
I am really excited about this block of the month. Amy is adorable, I also lived in Denver for several years, so one of the pictures she posted on her blog brought back nightmares…lol the snow one….I have already done both blocks the day after i saw them. I also ask a friend of mine if she wanted to join and she did… so thanks so much for this class, I hope it’s continued for several years….
Thanks alot. I hope you guys will stay with me until I finish a quilt.
i would love to know how tooa dd this badge to my face book page, or wall or info for all the world to see!!
All you do is paste the code into your blog’s sidebar, a Facebook post, etc. and it will show up.
Just added a linky
I’m so excited to be a part of the quilt block of the month!
Would this make a good black and white quilt? I have been wanting to make one and wonder if this would work.
It’s all personal preference, but it would appear that you could do the colored spaces in black to a nice effect. Since the next few months will be a surprise, you’ll have to wait and see!
I would love to join the block of the Month, so how do i get started?
All you need to do is go to the Block of the Month signup page and register. You can start right away. http://www.craftsy.com/class/The-Craftsy-Block-of-the-Month/50
I’ve joined Block of the Month and am starting on my January blocks.
Think this is a great idea for new and experienced quilters. Experienced quilters may have helpful ideas/suggestions for the new quilters. I belong to a Quilting Guild in Edmonton, Alberta and it has a mix of seasonal and new quilters.
My comment of 2:17 should read seasoned not seasonal. Sorry for the typo.
i must be doing something wrong: when i cut and paste the badge link to my face book page..i tried to paste it under “whats your status” it show up as a link to the block of the month site… help!!!!!
You can add the badge to a Facebook album. Right-click on the image, save to your computer, and then upload to an album.
I just love all the ideas you provide, I’m a new quilter an wondering why and how I’m ever going to get Them all done. Thank you for the inspiration!
It seems like a nice project. Every time it’s a block of the month, I usually take longer then a month. Hope it just not me.
I did get the badge on my FB but I cannot find a print instructions button. When I go to the printer icon it prints out the page I am on. What am I doing wrong?
Hi Dolores,
I’m forwarding your printing question to our help desk. They’ll get back to you with a reply. If you ever have questions during your course, just start a discussion / ask a question right in the class itself. For technical or site issues, please email help@craftsy.com.
Thanks! -Stefanie
I agree with other commenters: it would be great if you had knitted and crochets blocks of the month, too. :^)
LOVE IT !!!
Keep up the good work.
I am so exhited about this opportunity! I always wanted to make my own quilt at my own pace. My money is tight (for a class) and I have tons of fabric since I like to sew. This will give me the opportunity to (finally) make a quilt, learn how and use my own (alredy purchased) fabrics.
I think I am going to contact some of my friends and get together once or twice a month to make these blocks. I have some friends who can’t sew and want to learn. This will be a great opportunity to get together, teach and learn.. Besides,, it will be so much fun!!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
(will forward this to others out of town (they could “join us” from far away).
Thank you so much for this class. I am a beginner, but Amy makes it appear that it will be easy enough for me to do these blocks. I hope to start this week! Is there a picture of the completed quilt, as I am trying to figure out what colors that I want to use for certain designs?
Thank you again!
The completed quilt is a surprise! So, we’re not showing any images of the whole thing finished. You’ll be in good shape if you choose colors that all coordinate.
I have started my own business called One Handed Knitting. I knit with one hand due to cerebral Palsy. I have been knitting since age 7 yr old. Join my blog at Onehandedknitting@blog.com
Thank you, I love learning new blocks, and learning difference ways of making old blocks. I am learning alot from you, keep up the good work.
Thank you for the block of the month. I panic in class as a result I don’t finish the block, but with block of the month I have finished the 4 blooks which I have enjoyed sewing.

I have put this badge on my blog, http://2busyhands.blogspot.com but it doesn’t seem to update. I have no blocks on it at all. Any ideas?

I did it, I posted your badge on my blog. Like you said Stefanie, I copied the badge to a word document, then opened by blog added a new post and uploaded the badge and said why I like Craftsy so much. Thank you for the instructions.
p.s. my blog is at http://kplohocky.blogspot.com I’m still in the process of creating it, but I hope you like it.
been busy getting ready to go back up North, so haven’t taken the advantage of this.
Where do I paste the link? Do I just put it in my status? Profile pic? I must be really tired this morning cuz I can’t figure it out! Sorry.
I am sorry, I can not figure out how I can become a member or login to receive the free quilt block of the month. It really looks complecated. Your help would be appreciated.
Best regards
